Description
The cold front was on the verge of crossing Singleton Lake at 5:30 pm on Wednesday March 8th, 2017. The southwesterly winds were still howling and creating a sea of ice caps in the open water. The ice in the western basin of Singleton Lake was still holding but chunks were breaking off and being carried by the current through Jim Day Rapids.
The warm conveyor belt layers of cloud occupy the left side of the canvas. Meanwhile the cold frontal wedge of low cloud was encroaching from the northwest. Towering cumulus were hidden behind this cold frontal wedge of low cloud but the toothy tops could be seen blowing with the northwesterlies aloft. There was rain in those clouds. Every cloud has a story to tell.
